Terms and Conditions of Hobley Music School

These terms and conditions govern the relationship between Hobley Music School, referred to as "the School," and students and their guardians, referred to as "pupils" or "you." By enrolling in lessons at Hobley Music School, you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions:

1. Lesson Schedule:

   - The school operates for 40 weeks in a year, and pupils can expect to receive 40 lessons annually, subject to the school's operating calendar.

   - Lessons are typically scheduled for a duration of half an hour unless an alternative arrangement is agreed upon between the pupil and the teacher.

2. Costs / Fees and Payment:

   - Payment for lessons is invoiced at the start of every month, except for the month of August when the school is closed.

   - The total annual cost is divided evenly into 11 monthly payments.

   - The monthly fee is £63 plus VAT.

   - Variations in the number of lessons per month due to holidays or other factors will not affect the monthly fee.

3. Inclusions:

   - The monthly fee includes access to YouTube recordings, participation in two music concerts per year, and all necessary learning materials and resources, excluding exam books and associated fees. We are also looking at integrating group and band workshops.

4. Free Trial Lesson:

   - A completely free trial lesson will be provided to new students to determine whether the school's lessons are a suitable fit for their needs and preferences.

5. Lesson Cancellations:

   - Pupils must provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice for lesson cancellations to avoid forfeiting the lesson.

   - Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice must be done through logging into the school's website.

   - For cancelled lessons with sufficient notice, pupils will receive a make-up credit that can be used at their discretion, subject to availability.

   - A maximum of two make-up slots per term can be scheduled.

6. Term Dates:

   - Term dates, including start and end dates, holiday breaks, and any other relevant information, will be provided on the school's website.

7. Termination of Lessons:

   - If a pupil wishes to terminate their lessons, a notice period of TWO weeks is required.

   - Termination notices should be provided in writing or email.

8. Social Media Policy:

   - The school may capture and share images or videos of pupils and their activities on its official social media platforms.

   - If you do not wish to have pictures or videos of yourself or your child used on social media, please inform the school.

9. Privacy and Data Handling:

   - The school will handle pupil and guardian information in accordance with its privacy policy.

11. General:

   - The school reserves the right to modify its terms and conditions as necessary. Any changes will be communicated to pupils and guardians in a timely manner.


Teacher Responsibilities
 

Lessons are designed to be fun and engaging. To give you or your child the best music education, students will be introduced to a whole range of musical genres, styles and technology.  All lessons are catered to set individual goals, desires and interests of each student. We encourage students to request favourite songs and pieces, but also to be open and creative. Tutors will help develop the student's reading, technique and playing ability. 

Student / Parent Responsibilities 

Students are responsible for arriving to lessons on time, with correct sheet music and instrument / equipment (if applicable) Where possible, students should practice to achieve goals. If practice at home is not possible (for example, no drum kit at home) then the Tutor will make practice suggestions that do not need a drum kit. If you would like help choosing an instrument to practice on at home, please do not hesitate to contact us for help and guidance. Late arrival times can not be made up as we often have other students or commitments immediately around lesson times. 

By enrolling in lessons at Hobley Music School, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to regularly review these terms and conditions for any updates or changes.
